Borough Gardens Dorchester

Borough Gardens Dorchester

The Borough Gardens are located in the centre of Dorchester in Dorset. The gardens were laid out to a plan by William Goldring of Kew and were first opened to the public in 1896.

They are located a few minutes walk from the centre of town and there are a few entrances which are all wheelchair accessible. In the gardens, there is an outdoor gym for adults and also a fully enclosed play area. This has facilities for all age groups with swings, rockers, slides, a multi-play structure and a see-saw.

In the warmer months, there is a splash area that shoots water from the ground which is great for cooling down. There are four tennis courts which are open all year round. Special features in the park include a Bandstand, clock tower, fountain, memorial and a sundial.
