Boston Castle and Park

Boston Castle and Park

Boston Castle and Park are located close to the centre of Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The castle was originally built as a hunting lodge and it is set in a small park with stunning views over Rotherham and Sheffield. It’s a lovely spot for a picnic.

What is there to do at Boston Castle and Park?

The castle is a square, two-storey building that stands on the highest point in Rotherham. It was built in 1775 and it acquired the name Boston Castle to commemorate the Boston Tea party. It is now a small visitor attraction with historical information and displays about the castle’s history. Children can try on costumes and there are a few games.

If you want to enjoy even better views there is access on request to the rooftop. The park itself is around eight hectares in size and it includes Canklow Woods which is an ancient woodland area. The park has an attractive garden area and a large open area for informal recreation. It is well used by visitors for walking.
