Boydells Dairy Farm
Boydells Dairy Farm is a small working farm that specialises in milking near Braintree in North Essex. They are open to the public and they offer daily guided tours with hands-on activities including attempts at cow milking. You can help feed their chickens, ride a donkey cart and say hello to their other animals including llamas. There are over 42 hectares on their farm including sheep which they also milk. This is one of the main things you will see on their guided tour where they milk batches of 18 ewes at a time.
The tours are fun and educational and give you a real sense of how life on a farm is. They also have a ride-on play area with pretend petrol pumps, a cute shallow stream which kids love to paddle in and tractor-trailer rides.
