California Country Park
California Country Park is located close to Finchampstead in Berkshire. It is home to an award-winning play park, cafe, paddling pool and an activity centre. The park covers 40 hectares and is set within 100 acres of ancient bogland and lowland heath. It offers scenic walks, wildlife watching, fishing and more.
What is there to do at California Country Park?
The new play park contains two distinct play spaces. There is the Sensory Garden and the Wild Wood. The Sensory garden has been designed with younger children in mind although most of the equipment is suitable for a range of ages and abilities. There is a variety of imaginative water play equipment and more.
The Wild Wood is designed to physically challenge older children and teenagers. It has three different treehouses of varying heights and levels of challenge. There is a rope and pole agility course, a climbing pyramid, a zip wire and more. Throughout the play area, there are natural elements such as logs, boulders, water, timber and trees. There is a range of inclusive and interactive equipment including a spinning disc, swings, musical chime walkaway and a trampoline.
There is a circular walk around Longmoor Lake with easy access for pushchairs and wheelchairs, other paths may be unsuitable. The play area is located close to the lakefront and cafe. The paddling pool is open in the warmer months and usually closes in early September. There is a small charge and sessions are for 1 hour 45 minutes. You can prebook online to guarantee your space.
