Castle House Museum is located in the heart of Dunoon in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is a unique museum offering old-world charm in a historic building that is set in gardens opposite Dunoon Pier.
The museum first opened in 1998 and is one of Dunoon’s most historic locations. It takes you through the history of the local area from Neolithic times to wartime. You will be immersed in history through historical reconstructions, interactive exhibits, an extensive photo archive and original memorabilia.
Their extensive grounds include a famous statue of Robert Burns’s “Highland Mary” and they benefit from panoramic views over the Firth of Clyde. Within the museum, there are realistic room-set reconstructions that show life in the Victorian area.
