Chapel St Leonards Beach

Chapel St Leonards Beach

The beach at Chapel St Leonards, near Skegness in Lincolnshire, is vast, sandy and golden. Although still a seaside destination it is a lot less spoilt and touristy than its neighbours. The beach literally stretches for miles in both directions and with a tide that rarely comes inland, you can usually be guaranteed a good spot on the beach.

It’s a great place for long walks on the sand, there is also a long promenade alongside the beach should you not want to walk on the beach. This forms part of the English coastal path and stretches from the North Sea Observatory all the way to Skegness. Dogs are welcome on the prom although there are some restrictions on the beach (see below).

The seafront is largely unspoiled but should you want a bit more the town centre and Trunch Lane are home to fairs, amusements, beach goodies and the kind of food we’ve come to expect from a visit to the seaside.

The North Sea Observatory is located north of the main town. It is a purpose-built marine observatory and offers beautiful views of the dunes, the sea and the animals, that live around there. The building is home to information and exhibitions, plus a cafe and toilets. There are also public toilets in the town and near the beach.
