The museum is situated in the former Victorian swimming baths and permanent displays include a look at the people who have lived in Charnwood through ancient everyday items. You can find out more about the geology and fauna of the area and discover how Charnwood became famous when one of the world’s oldest fossils was found.
In the Living off the land gallery you can discover more about quarrying in the area, have a go at basket weaving and see a huge chair carved out of a single oak tree. The other permanent gallery is Earning a living. There are cranes you can have a go at lifting with, there is a Victorian grocer’s shop and more. They also have three different temporary exhibitions a year.
