Chelmer Cruises

Chelmer Cruises runs boat trips on the waterways of a largely unspoilt part of rural Essex. The waterway connects the town of Chelmsford with the tidal estuary of the River Blackwater.

You can join one of their boat trips and enjoy a cruise also the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation. There are almost 14 miles of waterways to explore. They are based at Paper Mill Lock which is approximately midway along the Navigation which allows trips in either direction and another at Heybridge Basin.

You can also charter a boat for your outing or celebration or turn up and buy a ticket for your leisurely cruise. There are 13 locks along the waterway.
