Chenies Manor House
Attraction Overview
Chenies Manor House is located in Chenies near Rickmansworth, Buckinghamshire. It is a Tudor Grade I listed building with the current house having been constructed around 1530-1550. The house is considered to be one of the UK’s finest Tudor Mansion houses.
The house has a long and rich history and features twisting chimneys and other interesting features. It is still a family home today and it is open to the public from Easter until early autumn. The grounds boast award-winning gardens and original 13th-century features including a Medieval well, a dungeon and a reputed priest hole.
Although never occupied by Royalty both Henry VIII and Elizabeth I have visited the house. In the gardens, there is a woodland walk, a yew maze, a labyrinth, a rose garden, a sunken garden and more. The house is open for tours.
