Corris Mine Explorers

Corris Mine Explorers

Corris Mine Explorers offer guided tours of the underground tunnels and caverns of an abandoned Victorian-era slate mine. They are located near Machynlleth in mid-Wales.

There are three underground trips to choose from ranging from easy to medium to hard. You will be taken into the dark, damp tunnels and the abandoned workings of the old slate mines in exclusive groups of no more than 15 people. Exclusive tours are also available but cost considerably more.

The Pathfinder tour is the easier tour and children can take part from the age of 8. You will spend an hour underground. Make sure you wrap up warm as it’s 8 degrees down in the mine, all year round. The adventurer tour is for people from the age of 10 and over. It includes two hours of exploration deep underground.
