Dalkeith Country Park

Dalkeith Country Park is located in Dalkeith near Edinburgh. It is a vast park on a historical estate that features an excellent children’s adventure park, Fort Douglas.

The adventure park is open 7 days a week with two sessions a day which you can pre-book online. It is suitable for children up to the age of 12 and there is plenty of fun to be had. There are bridges, slides, turreted treehouses, zip wires and rope bridges. Plus climbing walls and tunnels. There is a toddler area for the under 5s, zip lines and jumping pillows.

Dalkeith Country Park also has a Go Ape aerial adventure site which you can find out more about here. You can also explore the park on foot with one of their waymarked walking routes. With 1,000 acres to explore there are maps, you can download from their website to choose where you want to walk. Walks include a family-friendly yellow trail, The Old Wood Purple Trail and more. The park also hosts a number of family-friendly events.
