Museum Overview
The Discover Bucks museum is located in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. It featuresHistorical, items from the local heritage plus a section on Roald Dahl.
It is a family-friendly museum that tells the story of the people and landscapes that have shaped Buckinghamshire for the past 200 million years. There are newly-refurbished galleries where they showcase the best of the local heritage, archaeology, social history, natural history, geology and more. They are also home to the famous Lenborough Hoard which is one of the largest hoards of Anglo-Saxon silver coins ever found.
They host a number of special exhibitions and events, throughout the year. These include hands-on science to LEGO. Their events include school holiday family craft activities and more. There is a Tudor house in the museum that dates back to the 1740s, plus a Georgian room and an outdoor walled garden.
Their Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery is an interactive wonder with hands-on discovery and amazing science inspired by Roald Dahl stories. It is a separate building from the museum.
