Things to do at Doddington Hall and Gardens review
Doddington Hall is an Elizabethan manor house which was built at the end of the 16th Century and completed at the start of the 17th Century. It is located in the village of Doddington near York.
The Hall & Gardens are open on Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. I can recommend booking on a family tour of the house if there is one available. You will get to find out plenty of interesting facts on a family-friendly tour but you are welcome to walk around at your own pace if you’d rather. There are many treasures to see within the house.
The gardens are beautiful and worth spending some time exploring. There is a 1 km walk to a pyramid and back if you are feeling energetic. There’s also a ground-level maze which is perfect for kids to run around in.
At Doddington, there are four walks around the grounds. There is a circular walk, nature trail, fishpond walk and avenue walk. Doddington hosts a great range of events throughout the year and it’s worth checking their website to see what is on.
Please note – Most places may still require you to pre-book online in advance. Some venues also still have certain areas closed for safety reasons. Please check their website and/or social media pages before visiting.
