Museum Overview

The Dorman Museum is located in the Linthorpe area of Middlesborough, North Yorkshire. It is a local and social history museum that was first opened in 1904.

The museum has eight permanent display galleries plus temporary exhibition spaces. The galleries look at a variety of different things including how the lives of 20th Century Women have been shaped in the local area. They also look at space and how our planet is affected by different forces.

There is a gallery that looks at archaeology and natural sciences plus a stimulating discovery space that is based around the theme of water. There are lots inside here to handle and explore. There is a gallery with mounted birds and eggs plus local artefacts. Kids will love the full-size dinosaur model. They also host a number of events including Yoga for children.
