Dumfries House
Dumfries House is located near Cumnock in Ayrshire, Scotland. It is part of The Prince’s Foundation and is set within 2,000 acres and an 18th-century Palladian country house with an unrivalled collection of Chippendale furniture.
The house is a beautiful stately home and you can explore many of its rooms including a blue drawing room, tapestry room, bedroom, dining room and more. There are extensive grounds to explore including a beautiful Queen Elizabeth walled garden, an arboretum, a Chinese bridge, Dovecot and other gardens. Entry to the main house is by guided tour only. Tours are generally daily throughout the Summer season except for Saturdays, with weekends only during the Winter season.
There is even a maze that was opened in the summer of 2016 and is made of yew hedges. The maze includes obelisks and a Japanese pagoda. There is also an adventure playground which is situated next to the cafe and located in the woodland. There is a large tube slide, a large climbing structure and more.

Entrance to the estate is free. The Queen Elizabeth gardens and house can be purchased online or at the visitor centre. These cost £12 for adults, children 5-15, £6.00 and under 5s are free.
