The Dundee Museum of Transport is located close to the centre of Dundee in Angus, Scotland. You can discover the history of transport from the past, present and future.

You will hear the stories of local transport pioneers and innovators while you explore their diverse range of vehicles from both local and national collections. You can even get up close to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Their enthusiastic guides will recount tales of the city’s transport heritage from its tram network to the railway maritime history and everything in between.

The museum’s aim is to educate and inspire visitors while they explore the museum’s collections, exhibits, interactive displays and activities. They have a diverse programme of events, throughout the year from large exhibitions, to workshops, open days and special events, for families, some may have an additional cost.

An adult standard ticket without donation costs £6.80, children £3.60 and children aged under 5 are free. Family tickets are available.

They have limited parking spaces at the entrance to the museum and there is nearby on-street parking.

When are they open?

They are open every day except Tuesday from March to October and Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from November to February. For up-to-date opening times and dates please visit their website.

Dogs are welcome on a short lead.

Are they accessible?

They are wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair users need to disembark directly outside the museum and not in Market Street, due to access issues into Market Mews.
