Things to do at East Anglian Railway Museum
At the museum you can immerse yourselves in a real steam railway museum and get up close to their wide collection of vintage carriages, plus their steam and diesel locomotives. In the Heritage Centre you can pull levers, press buttons, dress up as a station master and learn about the railways of the past. Look out for Milo Mouse and friends as they help to point out the areas where children can interact with the displays.
The Goods Shed dates back to Victorian times and it has been beautifully restored and is packed with genuine and original railway memorabilia. In the Restoration Shed, you can see all the work that goes into restoring their vintage trains. This is open most days. The museum hosts a number of event days including a Day Out with Thomas.
Kids will love the miniature railway. There is also a small play area. You can choose to ride their trains, this has an additional charge.
