Erasmus Darwin House
Erasmus Darwin House is located in Lichfield, Staffordshire. It is the former home of the English poet and physician Erasmus Darwin who is the grandfather of Charles Darwin.
Today you can visit the Grade I listed building which is now a writer’s house museum which commemorates Erasmus Darwin’s life. It is situated in Lichfield’s picturesque Cathedral close and it was a home to Erasmus Darwin from 1731-1802.
You can work your way through interactive exhibits, replica costumes and historical objects. Outdoors you can learn about the medicinal qualities of plants in the tranquil garden and there are often children’s activities available.
