Ferny Rigg Alpacas
Ferny Rigg Alpacas offer alpaca walks from their farm near Hexham, Northumberland. Treks take place around their farmland in the Upper North Tyne Valley which is part of the Northumberland National Park.
They run group walks and private walks with their alpacas. Their walks start with an introduction to the herd and you will then walk one of their alpacas on a lead for around one hour. This takes place at a relaxing ‘alpaca pace’.
Children aged 6-10 may walk an alpaca but they must be closely supervised by a dedicated adult. Their walks are not suitable for children under the age of 6 and older children can walk their own alpaca. It is normally expected that each child over the age of 10 will walk their own alpaca.
