Floors Castle
Floors Castle is located near Castle in the Scottish Borders. It dates from 1721 and features roof turrets and lavishly furnished interiors. Despite its name, it is an estate house rather than a fortress and it was embellished with the turrets and battlements that you can see today in the 19th century.
Today it is one of the most iconic country houses in Scotland and it is the largest inhabited house in Scotland that has been home to eleven generations of the Duke of Roxburghe. You can explore the house and see its fine collections of art, porcelain, tapestries, grand rooms and some superb views.
In the grounds, you can explore the spectacular Victorian walled gardens with glasshouse, herbaceous borders and a formal Millennium garden. There are waymarked woodland and riverside walks to explore plus a cycle trail that is suitable for all the family. Children can let off steam in their enclosed adventure playground and they also host a number of annual events.
