Fordhall Organic Farm

Fordhall Organic Farm is an organic farm of some 128 acres located near Tern Hill, Shropshire. It is a community-owned farm and as well as its farm shop and farm kitchen they are also open to the public for day visits.

What is there to do at Fordhall Organic Farm?

They are free, to visit and their aim is to show that small-scale farming, connected to the local community, offers a viable way of life for generations to come. They have been farming chemical-free for over 65 years and they rear cattle, sheep and pigs.

There is usually a seasonal, trail around the farm with extra activities for children. This usually has a charge, for the trail pack, of around £2.50. You can also explore using their way-marked farm trail which offers three fascinating walks around the beautiful Fordhall countryside.

Along the trails, there are wood carvings and the opportunity to build dens plus there is a human-sized ark and trees to climb. They also have ropes to clamber through, woodland stepping stones and a picnic area. The trail is open all year although it can get muddy at wetter and colder times of the year.

There may be times that it is closed due to the impacts of bad weather or for maintenance work. Please check out their blackboard in the play area when you visit as that will state which walks are available. There is Charlotte’s walk which takes 25 mins, Ben’s walk which takes 45 mins and Arthur’s walk which takes 70 minutes. They have leaflets that will guide you on all three walks.
