What is there to do at Fort Victoria Country Park?
You could certainly make a day of it by visiting the forts attractions and then enjoying a walk on the seashore and also in the woodland around Fort Victoria. There is a nature trail to follow and along the unspoilt shoreline, you may find fossilised remains of turtles and crocodiles that once inhabited the area millions of years ago. As the tide goes out there are also rock pools to explore.
The Reptilarium is a licenced zoo and terrapin sanctuary. It is open daily between mid-February and October. There are four themed rooms to explore with live reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. There is also a Planetarium that immerses you in full 360-degree videos that are projected onto the in-house dome.
Also at the fort, there is a really quirky museum with all sorts of oddities. Plus there is a GMS Gladiator exhibition which is more for adults as it is more text-based.
