Gower Heritage Centre
The Gower Heritage Centre is located in Parkmill, South Wales. It is set in the heart of the Gower Peninsula west of Swansea. It was established in 1990 as a countryside crafts centre situated in historical and beautiful surroundings. For children, there is a soft play area, a sandpit and some mini tractors. They also run family-friendly workshops which are organised by their resident craft workers. All craft workshops must be pre-booked online in advance.
You can take a self-guided tour around the site using their map on arrival or via download. The tour includes the water wheel, a functional 12th-century corn mill where they grind fresh flour most days. There is a Mill cottage which is a replica of living conditions at the mill from the 18th century.
There is a woodturners room, a woollen mill and a farming museum. You can also see a fully equipped and functioning forge plus much more. Resident craft workers include Jewelry design, a bakery, cider making and more. Workshops that can be pre-booked include the Iron Age roundhouse, cookery class, art sessions and more.
