Graves Park is located on Hemsworth Road in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. It is a popular place for families to visit and kids will love visiting all the animals at the on-site farm that is run by Sheffield City Council.
What is there to do at Graves Park and Animal Farm?
The park is the biggest in the South West of the city. The park was opened and developed from 1926 to 1936. It was created to protect the thousand-year-old woodland from building development. Today, the park is a mixture of open spaces and woodland, with several streams running through it.
The park has a practice golf course, two bowling greens and several hard tennis courts plus a playground. There is a large play area next to the cafe with a sandpit, toddler equipment, climbing frames, zip wire, swings and more. There is a smaller playground on the other side of the park. Don’t forget your duck food as there are usually plenty to feed and there are boats you can hire out in the warmer months.
There is also Graves Park Animal Farm which hosts a number of annual events. The farm is home to some of the rarest breeds in the county. You can see their animals in barns and out in the fields.
