Greenway National Trust

Greenway is a National Trust property that was once the holiday home of Agatha Christie. Located near Kingswear in Devon the house provides an extraordinary glimpse into the private holiday home of the famous and much-loved author and her family.
What can you do at Greenway National Trust?
The estate is located on the eastern bank of the tidal River Dart. On the river, you can see what was once a Gun battery that was built as a Napoleonic defence in the 1790s. There is also a Boathouse which was the ‘scene of the crime’ in Christie’s book Dead Man’s Folly.
There was originally a Tudor house built on the grounds which was later replaced with a Georgian house that has 1950s interiors. You can explore the house and find out more about the rooms that were used by the family and the treasures within. There is a family-friendly trail available in the house and around the grounds.
Within the grounds, there is a walled garden, woodland, riverside paths and gardens. You can actually reach the estate via a steam railway service. Trains run from Paignton and Kingswear and stop at Greenway Halt station.
