Museum Overview

The Hamptonne Country Life Museum is located in St Lawrence on the Channel Island of Jersey. Costumed characters re-enact rural Jersey life at this historic home and farm with an outdoor playground.

The museum provides visitors with a unique insight into rural life in Jersey through the centuries. The house and farm date back to the 15th Century. You can explore the houses, find out more about cider making and wander through their cider apple orchard.

Their decorated and furnished farmhouse gives a unique insight into 1940s rural life. You can see examples of agricultural traditions, day-to-day family life, language, religion and also the experience of the German occupation. The buildings on the site are from a range of different periods.
