Harlow Museum and Walled Gardens are located in Mark Hall Park in Harlow, Essex. The museum covers over 1,000 years of history and you can also explore the lush gardens of this former private estate. The museum is located in one of the stable blocks.

Museum Overview

Inside the museum, you can learn all about the history of the town from the Iron Age through to the present day. The museum has around 40,000 artefacts many of which were acquired by public donation. They are representative of the personal, social, domestic and industrial development of the town and its inhabitants. You can see Roman treasures that were excavated from the Roman Temple site in Stangrove Hill, discover a collection of over 40 cycles, see fossils and more.

Outdoors there are three historical gardens to explore that are set across two acres of green space. There is a new discovery around every corner with family activities and a seating area perfect for picnics.
