Hazlehead Park
Hazlehead Park is located in the centre of Aberdeen in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is one of Aberdeen’s oldest historic properties and it was originally part of the great hunting forests of Stocket just outside the city.
Today it is a public park around 180 hectares in size. It was originally opened to the public in 1920 and today it features a large dense woodland with many walking tracks. The park has a range of facilities including football pitches, two golf courses, a pitch and putt course and a horse-riding school. The park has a number of sculptures by a range of artists including a memorial. It features Scotland’s oldest maze that was first planted in 1935 plus there is a large children’s play area and a pet’s corner with animals.
Here you can meet alpacas, birds, sheep, goats, reptiles, guinea pigs and more. There is a small charge for entry. There’s even a Gruffalo sculpture within the park a mini stone henge, a memory path and so much more. It’s certainly worth using the map to find all the different sculptures within the park.
