Hebridean Whale Cruises

The Hebridean Whale Cruises are located on Pier Road in Gairloch in the Scottish Hebrides. Their boat operates whale and dolphin watching plus wildlife cruises.

The local waters are favoured with an abundance of marine wildlife. You will hopefully spot whales, dolphins, porpoises and sharks. None are guaranteed but they will do their best to help you spot them. On the shoreline, there are colonies of seals and families of otters. Birds as rare and spectacular as the white-tailed eagle and puffins may also sometimes be spotted.

Their season starts with 3-hour cruises towards the Shiant Islands where there are thousands of nesting birds plus grey and common seals. Around mid-May, their cruises become more focused on whales and dolphins. Their daily cruise schedule increases to include their 2.5-hour whales and wildlife cruise plus their 4-hour ultimate Orca cruise. From mid-September, they run more flexible cruises to adjust to the environmental conditions. Cruises do not run over the winter.

Orca 1 is fitted with special jockey seats which allow an adult and child to sit together. However, it is essential that all passengers are able to firmly grip the boat’s hand-holds and for this reason, they do not recommend Orca 1 for younger children.
