Helston Railway

Helston Railway

Helston Railway is located near Helston in Cornwall. It is a heritage railway which aims to rebuild and preserve as much as possible of the former GWR Helston railway. It is run by a group of volunteers.

The current track runs for 1.5 miles and you can book a return journey on one of the scheduled trains. There are plans to extend the track further. Truthall Halt has been reconstructed and painstakingly restored to its former glory. It also operates from a new platform up the line at Prospidnick. This is where all rides start.

They have tried to recreate how the line would have been in the 1950s as much as possible. They use vintage steam or diesel traction and period carriages. They also run a number of themed special events.
