Highland Safaris and Red Deer Centre are located near Aberfeldy in Perthshire, Scotland. They offer a wide range of packages from helicopter tours to 4×4 adventures.

You can come face to face with their majestic Red Deer and meet and encounter their tame barn owl in a hands-on demonstration. Plus you can discover the natural wonders of Highland Perthshire on a fun and inspiring short walk. From the shelter of the barn, you can stroke, feed and photograph their wonderful deer. This experience lasts for 45 minutes and includes food to feed the deer.

Why not have a go at gold panning at Scotland’s only gold and gem panning centre? There are lots of lovely stones to be found and they will provide all the necessary equipment. Sessions last for 45 minutes and all ages can take part. This is open from March to October.

There is bike hire where you can explore their nearby bike trails. Plus there is a discovery walking trail which is a 500-metre interactive walk with outstanding views. They also have a kid’s play area. Their 4×4 safaris include a mountain safari, forest safari, private charter, off-road, seasonal, and more. Plus they offer safari tours of Loch Tay. Their state-of-the-art RIB boat has a heated cabin and is the biggest and fastest boat on Loch Tay.

What are the main things to do?

Deer safaris include owl encounters, 4×4 safaris, boat tours of the loch, children’s play area, bike hire, bike trails and a walking trail. There are toilets and a cafe.

What are the ticket prices?

Deer safari costs £15 per adult, £11.25 per 13-17 year-olds and £7.50 for 4-12 year-olds. Under 4s are free. Gold panning is £7.50 per person. Prices vary for their 4×4 tours. The mountain safari costs £47.50 per adult and children are cheaper. Loch Tay cruises adults £45, 13-17 year-olds £36, 0-12 year-olds £30.

Dog friendly?

Guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted, including on their Land Rover-based safaris but only if booked as a private charter. Pet dogs are not permitted.
