Highwoods Country Park
Highwoods Country Park is located near the centre of Colchester, Essex. It is one of Colchester’s beauty spots and has a lake, play areas, a Nordic walking trail and a community garden.
The park is a great habitat for thousands of different birds and mammals. You can enjoy a walk or a cycle in the park. There are waymarked paths that lead you through bluebell woods with three circular walking trails available of varying lengths.
Located close to the main car park you will find an adventure play area with a dedicated picnic area nearby. There are three play areas which incorporate natural elements such as wood, rocks and trees. Fishing with a permit is available at the lake and organised family-friendly activities take place throughout the year. These include pond dipping, den building and helping out in the community garden.
