HMS Victory
HMS Victory is located at the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth, Hampshire. It was first launched in 1765 and is best known for her role as Lord Nelson’s flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar on the 21st of October 1805.
Things to do at HMS Victory
When you visit you will be able to see the spot where Lord Nelson fell, there is an engraved plaque which marks the spot. There is also a new under-hull walkway which allows you to descend into the base of the dry dock and view the ship from below.
Another new addition is the Victorian gallery which has been completely refitted. It tells the story behind the ship’s role in the battle with interactives and other displays. The gallery also introduces visitors to the people both famous and not-so-famous behind the ship’s 256+ year history.
On the ship, you can see where sailors and officers ate and slept. You can explore the whole ship including the Great Cabin right through to the lower gun deck. There is a hand-held audio guide that you can take around with you to enhance your visit.

Entrance just to the HMS Victory costs from £24 for an adult and £19 for a child. The more cost-effective option is to purchase a 12-month explorer ticket for a number of attractions in the dockyards. This costs from £34-39 for an adult or £24-29 for a child.
