Things to do Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World review
This is a small, family-run zoo located on the outskirts of Telford. Nestled in 32 acres of woodland and paddocks it has over 400 animals covering 120 different species. Some are very exotic and endangered.
They have lots of reptiles in the rivers, rainforests and deserts section. In Lemur forest you can even walk amongst them on designated days. The pretty woodlands are home to other unusual animals including Romanian water Buffalo, Capybara and Coatis. In Wallaby wood you can try feeding the wallabies as you are allowed to walk amongst them and help feed them at feeding time.
The animals of the world section is home to some big cats including Servals and Caracals plus fishing cats and Scottish wildcats. Plus the Asia claws otter which is amongst the smallest otter species in the world.
Other animals include meerkats, arctic fox, Indian crested porcupine, racoon dogs, polecats and civets. Parrots of the Caribbean has 20 different species of parrots plus some macaws, a rare giant spurred tortoise and marmoset monkeys. There is also a farmyard area with goats, sheep and pigs that you can feed.
There is a host of activities at the park including daily talks and animal feeding. They also have a Hoo farm sheep steeplechase with teddy bear jockeys and live commentary from July to September. There is an indoor soft play area and games room. Plus an adventure playground with go-karts and coin-operated tractors and quad bikes. They also offer special animal experiences at an additional cost.
Hoo Zoo has recently added Hoo-rassic World where you will step back over 250 million years on their woodland walk and encounter over a dozen moving dinosaurs and other beasts.
