Howard Park and Gardens

Howard Park and Gardens are located in the heart of Letchworth, Hertfordshire. The gardens were created over 100 years ago as a central part of the world’s first garden city.
What is there to do at Howard Park and Gardens?
The gardens today are on either side of Hillshott Road with the more formal gardens and bowling green on one side. On the other side is the more informal part of the park where you will find the paddling pool and play areas. The paddling pool has splash fountains, it is free to use and is open in the summer months.
The park has been recently upgraded thanks to a large award of money. Many facilities have been restored such as the statue of Sappho and other memorials plus the paddling pool was transformed. Many new features were added to the play area, park furniture and a refreshment kiosk.
Play features include a climbing forest with vertical beams, ropes and nets which is great for older children. There is an inclined wall to climb up, a wobble dish, bouncing flowers, swings and a see-saw. There are a couple of child-friendly trails available to download to take with you around the park.
