Howick Hall Gardens
Howick Hall Gardens and Arboretum are located near Alnwick in Northumberland. It is the ancestral home of the Earls Grey since 1319.
What is there to do at Howick Hall Gardens?
In the house, you will be able to discover more about the 2nd Earl, after whom the famous Early Grey tea is named. Only the ground floor is open to visitors where you can see the Chinese Room and the Dining room.
You can also explore the gardens which were created by the 5th Earl and his family plus the arboretum with shrubs and trees covering over 65 acres. You can enjoy a number of walks around the gardens and the arboretum. Plus, and it possibly goes without saying, you can enjoy a cup of Earl Grey tea in their elegant Earl Gret Tea House.
The seasonal, Family Explorer Challenges are nature trails around the garden and arboretum. They post a number of orienteering and wildlife questions Look out for swans, ducks, herons and red squirrels.
