The Ilfracombe Museum is located near the beach in the centre of Ilfracombe, Devon. It features an eclectic collection of natural history items, cultural relics and curiosities.
Inside you will discover the story of Ilfracombe’s rich history and see objects from around the world including a shrunken head and pickled bats. There are drawers and cupboards to peek into and with eight different rooms, there is something there for everyone.
The museum first opened in 1932 and there are almost 28,000 items in the collection. You can travel back in time with a range of exhibits from High Street shops, step back in time see how visitors used to arrive in Ilfracombe and see a recreated Victorian kitchen.
