Ingleborough Cave

Ingleborough Cave is located in Clapham, North Yorkshire, very close to the county of Lancashire. It is a show cave and there is a stretch of some 500 metres that is open to the public.
What can you do at Ingleborough Cave?
In the cave, you can follow in the footsteps of the early Victorian explorers as you journey through 450 million years of geology and history. There are some spectacular formations to be seen in one of the country’s natural wonders.
You will walk around 0.6 miles (1 km) down into and around the cave. There are no steps and the passages are well-lit throughout. It’s cold down there, around 8oC, so wrap up warm – even in summer! Suitable footwear is also recommended.
You will also discover the Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail as part of your visit. Access to the Cave is via the Trail and this is included in your ticket. Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail is a popular 2 km walk suitable for all ages. You should allow a minimum of half an hour for the walk.

Is there food and drink available?
There is no cafe, you can purchase some drinks and snacks from the shop.
What are the main things to do?
Show cave with some spectacular formations to be seen in one of the country’s natural wonders. There are toilets that are open when the caves are open.
What are the ticket prices?
Adults £13.00, children 3-15 £6.50. Other pricing options including family tickets are available.

Is there parking?
There is ample parking in the Yorkshire Dales National Car Park. You will then need to walk half an hour to the caves (and back again). Charges for parking may apply.
