The Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves are located near Torquay in Devon. It is an award-winning attraction and the caves were once home to prehistoric humans.
What can you do at Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves?
You will be guided through the extensive system of caves that were formed in Devonian Limestone. As well as once being occupied by prehistoric people the caves were also occupied by Ice Age animals,. You will be shown total darkness, extraordinary natural rock formations and artefacts that have been left by the cave’s ancient occupants.
The caves are one of the most important Stone Age sites in Europe and they are one of Britain’s best showcases. All tours of the caves are guided. Outdoors there is a woodland trail. Make sure you pick up a trail activity booklet. There are three available for three different age groups.
Why not make a full day of it and go for a longer walk? They have a few suggested itineraries you can follow including coastal walks that include Meadfoot Beach where Darwin once lived for a short time.

Adults online are £14, children aged 2-15 £13 and children under 2 are free. Walk-up prices are £1 extra pp.
