Kirkleatham Owl Centre

Kirkleatham Owl Centre is located in the village of Kirkleatham near Redcar, North Yorkshire. The centre was founded in 1990 and it is the UK’s oldest established owl centre. Their collection has grown to include a wide range of animals, including meerkats, rabbits, emus and other birds.

What is there to do at Kirkleatham Owl Centre?

They have a number of themed aviaries that are home to many beautiful tropical birds from around the world. There is a flying arena where they have displays that visitors can watch. It’s worth walking around more than once as some birds that may have been hiding may suddenly appear.

The Owl Centre is part of a wider estate with other things to do. There is a playground with a picnic area plus the Kirkleatham museum . Both of these can be visited for free. There is also a walled garden with a small entry fee. Also in the estate there is the Kirkleatham Woodland trail. It is a short walk through the woods with free, entry.
