Lakes Aquarium
The Lakes Aquarium is located at Lakeside on Lake Windermere near Ulverston in Cumbria. It has tanks of freshwater fish and other marine life. The aquarium features an underwater otter tunnel and stingrays.
There are a number of themed areas. You can see fish from the lakes in the Lake District, the seas and rivers of Asia and the Americas. Plus rainforest exhibits will give you an idea of the abundance of life that is found in these lush environments.
There are fish and tortoises from Africa, a virtual dive bell and an impressive underwater tunnel. Don’t miss feeding time where you’ll see the surface-dwelling ducks dive deep into the waters in search of food. They also have some coral reef tanks with exotic species and some rock pools.
