Things to do at Leeds Industrial Museum
The Grade II* listed building is now home to the museum. It was once the world’s largest woollen mill. The museum was opened in 1982 and it is in a picturesque setting between the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the River Aire.
The museum even has a small cinema where you can watch a film in their cosy 24-seat cinema. It is one of the smallest cinemas in the world and dates back to the 1920s. There is a tailoring gallery where you can discover how Leeds helped to launch high-street fashion. Plus an exhibition that celebrates the media.
There are textile galleries with spinning wheels and working looms. Plus a Powerhouse with steam engines, a recreated manager cottage from 1969 and a garden.
