Leicester Museum and Art Gallery are located not far from the centre of Leicester, Leicestershire. It contains displays of science, history and art both international and local.

It is home to a world of discovery with collections and displays spanning the natural and cultural world. The displays are family-friendly and galleries include Ancient Egypt, dinosaurs, wild space and there is a stories gallery. Plus a Victorian art gallery, The Attenborough Collection and an internationally renowned German Expressionism collection.

The Dinosaur Gallery shows what Jurassic life was like in Great Britain many millions of years ago. Highlights include the 15-metre Rutland Dinosaur and the Barrow Kipper. There are fossils and animal skeletons. In Wild Space, there are some amazing animals, to discover and tunnels for children to explore. The Egyptian galleries feature four mummified ancient Egyptians, figurines, jars and more. Plus there is so much more to see.

They host an array of temporary collections plus children’s handling sessions, lunchtime concerts and more. There are plenty of interactive things for the whole family to do.
