Museum Overview
The Linlithgow Museum is located in Linlithgow, West Lothian. In the museum, you can find out about their Royal connections, the trades of the town, the ordinary and the extraordinary. There are three galleries with some interactive features. Gallery one covers civic life and celebrates the town’s rich royal heritage. This includes their stunning Mary, Queen of Scots statue which was the first life-sized statue of her to be commissioned in Scotland.
Gallery two looks at trades and industries including dyeing, explosives, pharmaceuticals and electronics. Kids will love the hands-on interactive displays which include making your own medicine, designing your own banner and even trying out different smells.
In the third gallery, visitors can learn about the Linlithgow marches, sports and leisure, politics, education and more. Key objects include Tam Dalyell’s typewriter, a Waldie digital interactive and some impressive Scotch Brigade banners.
