Lion Royal Pony Trekking Centre
The Lion Royal Hotel in Rhayader is also a pony trekking centre. They are situated in the Elan Valley in what is considered one of the most beautiful parts of the country.
Their pony treks take different routes through the hills, valleys, rivers and woodlands. They explore parts of the area that most people would struggle to get to on foot. You will experience the views, wildlife and tranquillity that the area has to offer.
The centre takes out all levels of riders from novice to advanced riders. They have horses of every shape, size and colour so there is always a horse or pony to suit you. The centre was first established in 1972 so they have plenty of trekking experience. Their trekking season starts in May and ends in mid-September. Their weight limit is 14 stone and their age limit is 6 years old.
