Lotherton Hall
Lotherton Hall is a country house near Leeds, West Yorkshire that also has a small wildlife park within its grounds. Outdoors there is plenty to do at Lotherton.
What can you do at Lotherton Hall?
There is a playground for under 8’s and also an adventure playground for older children with twin zip wires and more. This is located near to the house, a little further on from here you will find their wildlife park. It’s got a relatively new visitor centre with a lovely shop.
You then enter next to the penguins which are fascinating to watch. Other animals include flamingos, other birds, tapir and more. There are also 8 acres of Edwardian gardens to explore including walled gardens and a hide to watch the deer.
There is a cute chapel next to the house which is worth having a look inside. You can look around the restored servant’s rooms and also upstairs. Families can rummage around some of their cabinets with different historical objects inside, there is a trail and interactive displays upstairs plus dress up.

If you purchase your tickets online in advance it is £9.00 for an adult and just £5.50 for a child (5 to 15 years). Under 5’s are free.

Dog friendly?
Guide and assistance dogs are welcome in all areas except the Stables Café and bird garden. Dogs need to be kept on leads in the gardens and courtyard but are free, to roam the rest of the grounds if kept under control. Water and bowls are available in the courtyard.
