Right in the heart of Edinburgh, Scotland, you will find a little piece of the countryside at LOVE Gorgie farm. It is home to many well-loved animals and it is a free entry urban farm (donations are welcome).
The farm offers hands-on education and learning opportunities. They are tucked in between a busy railway line and one of the city’s main roads. The farm has many animals including domestic pets, alpacas and goats. Plus guinea pigs, ferrets, birds and rabbits. The farm showcases farming methods from Scotland and beyond. You are given the chance to get hands-on and learn how to properly care for their animals. They also have some small outdoor play areas.
They can even host your child’s birthday party. Plus you can book an alpaca walking experience and if you want you can book a tour of the farm for £5 per person. They also have bookable activities including yoga, summer camps and other family-friendly activities.
