Maidstone Museum is a local-authority-run museum located in the centre of Maidstone, Kent. It features internationally important collections including fine art, natural history and human history.

The museum was originally founded in 1858 and it is housed in Chillington Manor which is a charming Elizabethan mansion. Also part of the museum is the iconic Maidstone Carriage Museum. This is home to more than 60 magnificent road carriages.

They regularly feature temporary exhibitions and collections. There are hands-on workshops for children, tours and talks for all ages. Don’t miss the 2,700-year-old Egyptian mummy and other items from Ancient Egypt. There are lots of galleries to explore with interactive things to do including digging for fossils and there are costumes to try on.
