Matlock Bath Aquarium and Arcade
The Matlock Bath Aquarium and Arcade is located on the main promenade road in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire. It is a Victorian museum with displays and fish.
What is there to do at Matlock Bath Aquarium and Arcade?
The aquarium houses over 50 species of fish. This includes their famous carp collection which is housed in their thermal pool. Many of their fish are from warm-water coral reefs. Plus there are a few terrapins. The carp in the thermal pool can be fed with food that you can purchase from their vending machines.
There is also one of the largest public displays of holograms in Europe and they are the site of the only remaining ‘petrifying well’ in Matlock Bath. This is a source of curiosity and amazement as the water turns items to stone. You can see a number of items that have been petrified by the well over the years.
They also have a beautiful worldwide gemstone and fossil display plus you can take a trip down memory lane in the ‘Past times in Matlock Bath’ exhibition. This is a collection of old photos and information. They also have fish for sale and offer re-homing services.
