Things to do at Merrivale Model Village
Their gardens are award-winning and feature streams, waterfalls and a world in miniature. Over the last century, many generations have enjoyed days out at the model village. The model railway was rebuilt in 2005 and boasts approx. 350 metres of track running through the garden with all sorts of different engines and carriages to spot.
The model village has so much to see it would be a shame to rush it. There is a castle, airship, theatre, stadium, a house on fire, church, Morris dancers, the crown jewels and so much more. You can also visit at night and see the miniature world lit up. Many of the scenes are animated.
Indoors you can step back in time and visit their unique Williamson’s Old Penny Arcade. There is a wide range of vintage slot machines which you can play by exchanging money for real old pennies. Also included in your admission is a round of crazy golf. There are 9 holes with a variety of obstacles, the crazy golf course is outdoors.
